Mid-Day Forex Technical Report - Dollar Extends Rally on Jobless Claims by ActionForex.com

EUR/USD's fall from 1.3609 extends further to as low as 1.3480 in early US session. At this point, further decline is expected to follow as long as 1.3544 resistance holds and retest of 1.3461 low should be seen. As discussed before, with 1.3627 resistance and remains and rising channel support turned resistance remain intact, the original case still holds.

Friday Notes - EMU housing market- a slowdown, not a recession by HVB Group

After a stronger-than-expected slowdown in March, we expect retail sales growth to have been pretty stable at 0.3% m-o-m, with the annual growth rate down to 4.3%. Earlier indications from the British Retail Consortium and Confederation of British Industry surveys sent mixed signal, with the former pointing to some slowdown and the latter showing a significant improvement in April. As we prefer the BRC, we remain quite cautious.

U.S. Leading Index decreases 0.5% in April (FXstreet.com)

The leading indicators index has decreased 0.5% in April to 137.3, due to the sharp fall in building permits, with six out of its ten components posting decreases, according to the U.S. Conference Board. These figures follow an upwardly revised 0.6% increase in March, originally reported as 0.1%. April’s decrease was sharper than expected, economists polled by Dow Jones Newswires had expected a 0.1% drop.
