Australia's physical trade deficit is expected to grow to A$1 billion in December as the drought weighs cuts into exports and a well-funded consumer stokes import spending. In the closing month of the year, shipments of Australian goods across the boarders may have been constrained across a number of key product groups.

U.S. Core PCE grows 2.2% on the year, Personal Consumption also up by FXstreet.com
Personal Consumption Expenditures index excluding food and energy has risen 2.2% in December, compared to a year ago, above the Fed desired range. The monthly growth of the core PCE has been milder with a 0.1% from November, while the overall PCE has increased 0.4%.
