FXstreet.com (San Francisco) - The US Census Bureau is scheduled to publish the Housing Starts and Building Permits indexes on Wednesday October 17 at 12:30 GMT and market is expecting an increase in starts to 770K units as annual rate for September.

RBS is a little bit less optimistic as Housing Starts "likely edged up further in September to an annualized level of 765,000 units." The RBS's US Economist team believes that the "groundbreaking activity has sustained into the second half of this year, motivated by tight inventory conditions and rising home prices."

The bank provides an anecdotal evidence that was upbeat, "and econoplay.com stated that “several builders are reporting September as ‘hands down’ the best month of the year."
