They ask, “It is possible that a downturn in activity in a number of financial markets, plus knock-on effects on sectors such as law and accountancy, have had an impact on the London economy?”
The English Business Survey suggests that uniquely of all the English regions, London saw no increase in output in July 2012 compared with April 2012. However they note that other indicators give a contrary view and factors like bank holidays and the Olympics may well have had an impact as well.
