FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Ben May, European Economist has focused on September’s EZ CPI figures.

He believes that the rise will not help to ease the pressure on households. However, the increase is unlikely to mark the start of a sustained upward trend. He notes that “the patch country data suggests that the rise may have been down to developments in one or two countries.”

All in all, he expects inflation to resume its downward trend soon, and to fall back below the ECB’s 2% price stability ceiling early next year which “should hopefully ensure that the ECB eventually provides more policy support.”
