FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - While Japan is off today on holidays, the Asian bourses mostly registered gains on Monday, still pricing in the QE3 news from Thursday's FOMC meeting. Although Hong Kong's Hang Seng closed with gains of +0.13%, at 20656.42, mainland China's Shanghai Composite fell by -1.23%, at 2098.09, on escalating protests and riots over a few disputed islands with Japan. South Korea's Kospi has dropped to on Monday, by -0.26% to 2002.35.

Futures for the German DAX 30 and the French CAC 40 are signaling a lower open by -0.50% ahead of the European opening that will be expecting the release of the trade balance data in the Eurozone. WTI crude oil trades at 99.06 (+0.07%) and Gold rises +0.19% to 1772.95.
