FXstreet.com (San Francisco) - U.S. stocks closed the practically unchanged on Friday, but worries about the looming "fiscal cliff," the upcoming U.S. Presidential and Congressional elections, and another round of weak corporate earnings results have underpinned sharp losses for the week.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 3.53 points to end at 13,107.21, leaving it with a weekly loss of nearly 250 points, or 1.8%. The S&P 500 index ticked down 1.03 points to 1,411.94, finishing the week with a 1.5% loss. The Nasdaq Composite gained a modest 1.83 points to 2,987.95, closing down 0.6% for the week.
