FXstreet.com (San Francisco) - U.S. stocks ended the week mostly lower despite modest Friday gains, as investors remained skittish about the health of the economy after the latest report on home sales signaled further trouble for housing.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 34 points on the day or 2.7% to close at 13,080, posting a 1% weekly loss. S&P 500 lost 4 points, or 0.3% on the day to 1,397. The Nasdaq composite edged up 4 points, or 0.15% to close at 3,067.
