FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - According to the Labor Department, the americans that filed in their first initial claims for regular state unemployment-insurance benefits rose by 2K last week to a seasonally adjusted 374K in the week ended August 25, missing expectations at 370K and coming from 372K (revised) in the previous print.

Continuing claims, which reflect people already receiving benefits, fell by 5K to a seasonally adjusted 3.316 million in the week ended August 18 vs. 3.321 million in the previous week (revised).
