FXstreet.com (San Francisco) - The major stocks indexes in the United States extended their momentum on Thursday and closed higher for second day fueled by optimistic prospects in the ongoing fiscal cliff talks, despite recent headlines talking about little progress has been made in late talks.
The Dow Jones closed the day above the 13,000 psychologically level after gaining 36.71 pts or 0.28% to finish at 13,021.82. The S&P 500 ended the day at 1,415.95 after rising 6.02 pts or 0.43%. The Nasdaq Composite wrapped up the session at 3,012.03 following 20.25% points or 0.68% gains.
