FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Despite some calls to lower rates, through the deposit rate (at 0%) or the refi rate at (0.75%), the ECB members decided to keep things unchanged in October. The central bank President Mario Draghi will speak at the press conference scheduled at 12:30 GMT, possibly clarifying questions regarding the OMT programme, currently shut while no Eurozone country requested aid yet.

“At today’s meeting, which was held in Brdo pri Kranju, the Governing Council of the ECB decided that the interest rate on the main refinancing operations and the interest rates on the marginal lending facility and the deposit facility will remain unchanged at 0.75%, 1.50% and 0.00% respectively”, says the statement.
