FXstreet.com (Córdoba) - The kiwi surged to a fresh 6-week high versus the greenback as currencies linked to commodities benefited from upbeat US employment data. Even though the US unemployment rate ticked up in January, jobs gain was in line with expectations while November and December figures were revised up.

NZD/USD jumped about 50 pips after the data, and printed its highest level since mid-December at 0.8464. At time of writing, NZD/USD is trading at the 0.8450 area, recording a 0.8% gain on the day.
