FXstreet.com (Córdoba) - The Australian dollar extended losses versus the greenback on Thursday, weighed by the cautious mood dominating in financial markets and having broken below its 200-day SMA, it hit its lowest in 3 weeks before finding support.
AUD/USD lost about 150 pips within the last sessions, after being rejected by the 1.0450/60 area, and touched a 3-week low of 1.0306 in recent dealings. At time of writing, AUD/USD is quoting at the 1.0325 area, 0.5% below its opening price.
As for technical levels, Valeria Bednarik, chief analyst at FXstreet.com locates next supports at 1.0290, 1.0260 and 1.0220, while she sees resistances at 1.0330, 1.0370 and 1.0410.
