FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The US Stock market experienced a negative opening across the board Wednesday following the reelection of incumbent President Obama vs. Governor Mitt Romney last night. While initial projections called for a relatively close election, Obama seemed to duplicate his past success he witnessed in 2008, in which he won by a sizable margin. Beginning with the indices and composites, the NASDAQ lost -1.24% as it settles in region of 2974.10, down 37.35 points in these moments.
In addition, the S&P 500 is trading in negative territory, operating at 1411.42, losing 17.23 points or -1.23% at the time of writing. Finally, the Dow Jones has moved lower at the opening as well, trading in the zone of 13188.31, presently -0.43% after a descent of 57.37 points.
Sectors are a nearly all red at the opening, however the Energy and Financial sectors have distinguished itself as the losers thus far, falling -1.46% respectively. In other news, the price of crude has settled below USD $87.25 today, falling -1.65%.
