* Says filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy

* Says none of broker-dealer subsidiaries or other subsidiaries of parent will be included in chapter 11 filing

* Says all of the broker-dealers will continue to operate

* Says customers, including of its Neuberger Berman unit, may continue to trade or take other actions with respect to their accounts

* Says exploring sale of its broker-dealer operations

* Says plans to continue efforts to sell investment management division

* Says Neuberger Berman LLC and Lehman Brothers asset management will continue to conduct business as usual

* Says fully-paid securities of neuberger customers are segregated from assets of Lehman Brothers and are not subject to claims of Lehman Brothers Holdings' creditors

* Says board of directors authorized filing of Chapter 11 petition to protect assets and maximize value

* Says to seek court approval to allow it to continue to manage operations, including to make wage and salary payments and continue other benefits to employees

* Says to file Chapter 11 petition with U.S. bankruptcy court in Southern District of New York
