NEW YORK, Sept 29 (Reuters) - The big Northeast and north central U.S. heating markets will have a warmer-than-normal October and November before the mercury slides below normal in December, private weather forecaster WSI Corp said on Monday.
The outlook could spell inventory builds for natural gas, widely used in the Midwest, and heating oil, widely used in the Northeast, this autumn before the cold bites and begins to deplete stockpiles, WSI said.
"The current climate signals suggest a warm October/November across the Northeast quarter of the U.S., followed by a sharply colder December," said WSI seasonal forecaster Todd Crawford.
"At the current time, we feel that the most significant cold weather will occur in the north-central U.S. this winter, although the Northeast will likely be cold for at least the first half of winter as well. Keywords: USA WEATHER/FORECAST WSI
