IMF Releases October 2009 Regional Economic Outlook
According to the October 2009 Regional Economic Outlook report for the Middle East and Central Asia region published by the International Monetary Fund, the Middle East and Central Asia region is starting to recuperate from the global financial crisis, albeit at a slow and steady pace.
Beirut Hotel Performance in August 2009
According to Deloitte’s latest report on hotel Performance in the Middle East, Beirut achieved an impressive annual growth of 6.5% in revenue per available room (revPAR) in August 2009 to $209.07, markedly outpacing the 25.2% contraction in revPAR in the Middle East region to $92.72.
Kuwait’s Money Supply Growth in September 2009
According to government official data, Kuwait’s “M3” monetary aggregate grew by 14.7% in September 2009 to KD 24.58 billion ($85.97 billion), up from KD 21.43 billion ($74.96 billion) a year earlier.
Consumer Price Index in September 2009
The U.S. Labor Department conveyed a shy 0.2% monthly increase in the U.S. Consumer Price Index “CPI” in September 2009 on the back of soaring car and tobacco prices.
