Eurozone unemployment fell a seasonally adjusted 72,000 m/m to 15.775 million in January, a third consecutive monthly fall, according to data released by Eurostat. The seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate declined to 9.9% in January from 10.0% in December, compared with 10.0% in January 2010.

The consumer-price inflation rate quickened to 2.4% y/y in February, the fastest since October 2008, from 2.3% y/y in January, a separate report from Eurostat showed.
