Canadian dollar continues to gain on housing report

The USDCAD pair has declined for the second week as it moves back to the yearly low. The pair is being driven down by solid Canadian macroeconomic figures and weakness of the dollar. Canada's economic recovery is unfolding slowly but surely, new data showed this month. Housing market in particular appears to be back on track to growth levels not seen since the recession started. Canadian housing starts rose 5.4% in October to an annualized level of 157k. While expectations had been for a
