- The March RBS PMI manufacturing index for the EMU could have remained unchanged at best
The RBS purchasing managers’ index for the EMU manufacturing sector and the Italian consumer confidence might have remained unchanged at best in March. However, the RBS purchasing managers’ index for the German manufacturing sector could have improved, as most of the correlated ifo indicators went up recently.
French consumer spending is likely to have recovered in February, because French consumer confidence improved. Following its usual seasonal pattern, the EMU trade balance will probably have deteriorated in January, but only slightly, as the corresponding German figure improved substantially.
