Credit markets have been weakening again lately following a period of strong performance in indices. Still, primary market activity has been high and this week we have seen several deals in the covered bond space after senior financials were the main driver in the weeks before.
After a strong start to the week, the last few days have seen a sense of weakness creeping into the credit market as secondary spreads have drifted slowly but surely wider. iTraxx Europe and high yield credit spreads in iTraxx Crossover are currently trading around 83bp and 458bp, respectively, down from 67bp and 406bp last Friday.
