While the supporters of Denmark's participation in the European Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) have en-joyed a stable lead over the 'no' side in recent years, Danske Bank's January poll pointed to a 'no' win for the first time since summer 2001. The 'no' lead proved short-lived, however, with all polls since January favouring a 'yes'. This trend was further confirmed in April, when the 'yes' side commanded a healthy lead. The April poll showed that 41.7% of the Danes asked would definitely vote 'yes' if they were to vote on Denmark participating in EMU, while 39.3% would definitely vote 'no'. Add to these figures the 9.9% who are uncertain but lean to-wards a 'yes' and the 6.2% who are in doubt but might vote 'no', and the 'yes' lead totals 6.1 percentage points - a little down on March, but comfortable nonetheless.
