Question Ninja Trader Question

I have been actively trading for about 6 months now. At first I hit a few speed bumps then I was REALLY successful then I crashed and burned. I was basically trading instinct with a pair that I thought I knew well USD/CHF. Unfortunately our romance has ended in the draining of my account 20k+ (I know I know I'm an idiot).

I have been looking at Ninjatrader and have reviewed a couple different strategy systems. The one I like the best takes a sample of the market 5 hours prior to the start of the Asia market opening and 5 hours before the NY market. Buy/sell entries lines are made based on these numbers with profit triggers and trailing stops thereafter. This is a custom strategy developed by a programmer using the software. Just looking for a more conservative and repeatable way to trade. I am a single mommy supporting my baby and having the flexibility to stay home and do it myself without help from anyone. I'm looking for suggestions. I have a demo acct and have had some serious mishaps with Ninja and I'm worried.

Thanks!

Hi fxcathy, welcome to the Forum. First of all, you're probably the first mommy trader that I met!!! Now let's answer your question: personally I would switch from Ninja to Metatrader as it has many advantages: it's free, it has a very big community programming indicators and strategies and you can customize it in a easy way.

Then just try the attached indicators, they will help you to plot any time range for any session you want to in Metatrader.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Wizard,

Could you please attach files in different format. Can't open. I keep hearing about the Meta platform. Is it 1 software or are there many developers who make a "Meta"? Where could I download it to demo?

Also, I am with FXCM right now but I've been advised to use MBtrader or Mirus. Any thoughts and do they support Meta?

Thanks

Hi fxcathy, both files are for Metatrader 4 platform, just copy them in the experts\indicators folder of your Metatrader.

FYI, Metatrader is a white label software which is adapted by the broker to his requirements. That's why you can find several Metatrader versions with different names.

FXCM (only UK branch, though US brach had it before new NFA regulation) has its own Metatrader platform (http://www.fxcm.co.uk/metatrader.jsp), as well as MB Trading. I would recommend you to open account at Mirus only if you're planning to trade futures.

Hope this helps!
