Default hotComm common issues and solutions

Here are some of the most common problems our users experience with hotComm and how to fix them:

1. Error message

You get that error message when you try to join the webinar:
[The address on [relay10] that you're requesting does not exist. Please check the address and try again.]

Your firewall, security or privacy software may prevent you from connecting to the 1stWorks Network .

For information about specific firewalls and how to fix it, see:

Other Configurations that may block connections

2. Can't see anyone in the room
  • Right-click in a gray area on any of the hotComm toolbars. (The * in the images are examples of where you can click.)
  • Select Show.
  • Check Invited Peers.
  • You should see an Invited Peers Panel in your hotComm window.

3. Blank (black or white) or garbled Video screen

Instead of the speaker's screen, you see a blank screen.

Press the "Refresh Display" button in the Hotcam window. See below:

If you experience other problems with hotComm, you can also visit the hotComm Support page or contact us. Thank you!

Hi Jennifer,

I hope you got the email yesterday. As we said in the message you get after registering, we send an email notification with the password about 30/15 minutes before the start of the webinar, so you should have received it on time I guess (in view of the time of your post, you should have).

By the way, I recommend you to read the instructions on how to attend a webinar here: http://www.fxstreet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=129

As we explain there:
The register implies an email reminder you will receive between 30 minutes and 15 minutes before the webinar starts. The session's password will be provided before entering the hotComm room, under the "Join this Webinar" link. If for any reason you don't receive this email reminder, you still can attend the webinar. Just enter the Live homepage about 15 to 30 minutes before the session starts and click on the session's title then on "Join the Webinar".

Kind Regards,

Maud GIlson

Trading foreign exchange on margin carries a high level of risk and may not be suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to trade foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with foreign exchange trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
