Forex Glossary

Moving Average

An indicator frequently used in technical analysis showing the average value of a security's price over a specified time period. Moving averages are generally used to smooth the fluctuations in data, as a consensus of trend direction, and to define areas of possible support and resistance.

The principal varieties used in Forex are simple, exponential and weighted.
