Book Synopsis

A simple, straightforward guide for everyone.

The financial markets can be a daunting place for someone just getting started. There are so many things you can trade and so many ways to do so. Everywhere you turn there is someone claiming to be an expert with a surefire way for you to make loads and loads of money with virtually no effort. It can be overwhelming.

The Essentials of Trading helps you cut through it all, learn how to trade, and what it really means to be a trader. No hype. No promises of big profits. Just 300 pages worth of guidance and information to help you get on the right course.

The Essentials of Trading is the culmination of three years teaching trading to those with little or no experience. Its contents and presentation have been honed in the classroom where university students have responded enthusiastically to both what they have learned and how they have been able to apply it.

More about The Essentials of Trading

Here is what The Essentials of Trading will teach you:

  • How to make trades.
  • The influences on price movement and how markets act.
  • How to develop a solid, comprehensive Trading Plan.
  • Where risk comes from and how to handle it.
  • How to go about analyzing the markets.
  • Ways to develop, test, and compare trading systems.
  • How to take your trading forward.

What The Essentials of Trading will not teach you is the one way to make money in the market. Why? Because there is no one way, and what works for one person oftentimes does not work for someone else. Anyone who has been around traders and trading long enough will agree. We are all different, with different interests and needs.

Instead of presenting a certain system, The Essentials of Trading helps you develop a foundation of knowledge, understanding, and practical experience. With that base, and the confidence it creates, you will be able to decide which approach best suits you. (...)
