The stock market indices had a very strong day today. After an early morning dip, they then came on in a 5-wave advance and closed at the highs for the day going away, taking out resistance in a very strong session.

Net on the day, the Dow was up 212.30 at 16,697.29, at the high for the day. The S&P 500 was up 21.90 to 1951.70, within pennies of its high. The Nasdaq 100 was up 40.40 to 4241.06, at the high for the day as well.

Advance-declines were 3 to 1 positive on New York Stock Exchange, and 3 to 2 positive on Nasdaq. Up/down volume was nearly 3 to 1 positive on New York, total volume of 4 billion shares traded. The Nasdaq traded almost 1 2/3 billion shares and had a 2 1/2-3 to 1 positive volume ratio.

TheTechTrader.com board was mostly green today. Google Inc. (GOOG) was up 6.19 to 705.75, Apple Inc. (AAPL) up just 66 cents to 96.76, Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) 1.11 to 555.15, and Netflix, Inc. (NFLX) 2.92 to 94.53. Priceline.com (PCLN), however, dropped 80 cents to 1263.41.

Tesla Motors, Inc. (TSLA) was the big winner, up 8.43 to 187.43, but Baidu, Inc. (BIDU) lost 4.53 to 158.22.

Facebook, Inc. (FB) gained 1.19 to 108.07, First Solar, Inc. (FSLR), had another great day, up 2.80 to 72.25, and Mobileye N.V. (MBLY) ran 1.51 to 30.74 late in the day.

Checking the TheTechTrader.com percent-gain leaderboard, low-priced Energy Recovery, Inc. (ERII) climbed 57 cents to 6.89, or 9%. Tronox Limited (TROX) thrust 57 cents to 4.37, or 15%, on 3 million shares.

The KEYW Holding Corporation (KEYW) climbed 1.70 to 6.34, or 37%, on 3.1 million shares this morning and stayed up all day. EnerNOC, Inc. (ENOC) went straight up 1.37 to 6.39, or 27%, on 2.5 million shares. Dynegy Inc. (DYN) gained 1.17 to 9.49, or 14%, on 9 million shares.

LendingTree, Inc. (TREE) jumped a whopping 15.56 to 85.50, or 22%, on 2.3 million shares. Chart Industries Inc. (GTLS) ran to 21.76, before pulling back to 19.91, up 2.77, or 16%, on 2 million shares. LeMaitre Vascular, Inc. (LMAT) popped 1.79 to 15.11, or 13%. Wayfair Inc. (W) had an interesting chart, up 5.30 to 44.77, or 11%, on 5 million shares. salesforce.com, inc. (CRM) bounces 6.90 to 69.42, or 11%, on 18 million shares.

Domino's Pizza, Inc. (DPZ) advanced 15.29 to 132.90, or 13%, on 4.6 million shares traded on a strong earnings report. Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (PANW), up 12.35 to 140.29, or 10%, on 5.8 million shares traded, went straight up to 143.38, and pulled back right at the close.

Stepping back and reviewing the hourly chart patterns, after an early pop at the opening, the indices dropped sharply, but held support, and came on the rest of the day in a 5-wave advance, and finished with an excellent gain on the day.
