Despite the rise in global risk aversion as result of the elections in Greece where the anti-austerity party Syriza won handily, MXN is making some gains to 14.6327 on news of ATT buying Nextel Mexico. We don't believe there will be flows resulting from the purchase although down the road ATT may put some investment and therefore we will expect MXN to reverse those gains ahead of US FOMC meeting on Wednesday. That said we don't expect a break above 14.70 before Wednesday. Domestic data is likely to be supportive with retail and services data expected to show demand recovery. In the US, there is only Jan Dallas Fed manufacturing data at 15:30GMT.
