CEO Interview: Institutional withdrawal from Hedge Fund sector opened door to innovation

A gap in the market was spotted by Jerry Lees, Chairman of Linear Investments Limited, who joined Nick Batsford on the Tip TV Finance Show. To discuss the future for Linear Investments.

What is next for Linear Investments?

Lees noted that following the 2008 recession, a gap opened up in the market of small to medium sized funds as large prime brokers focused on the higher end. He continued that they are now looking at funds outside the banking industry, and are focusing on China as well as moving towards firms of the likes of Google and Tesco with big balance sheets. Lees highlighted that they have 165 clients in total, with 60 in the pipeline, and he believed the key growth area in the next 5 years for Linear Investments Limited involved a combination of raising further capital to inject into the company so they can provide a prime brokerage.
